August slept a full 12 hours after not taking a nap yesterday. Skyped with Cassie and Vivi in the morning. August was very into Qing Vivi.
Found his toothbrush and toothpaste and wanted to watch the Teuni Teuni video. Pavlovian response as when I did start playing the video he reached out and grabbed his toothbrush and started brushing his teeth.
We all left at 11, headed to Eulji. It was a nice walk, the first time I’ve been out of the house for a few days. I stayed with August out in the waiting room while Carly had her appointment, but he was not happy about that. He’s barely spent a minute away from Carly in the last week, and started crying right away. When a nurse tried to get close, he screamed at her. I picked him up and walked the halls. Took about 15 minutes and he never did calm down. He managed one “patience grasshopper” to himself, but mainly he was crying and saying “Miss mama.” He was fine when Carly was free, and we walked home.
About 2 I went down to the clinic on the second floor. He listened to my case, but could only get a fever of about 99.2 off my forehead. He said there was some infection in my sinuses/throat, so they cleaned them (you hold a nozzle to each nostril for a minute) and told me to come back in three days. Well, that’s a start, I guess. He didn’t seem to worried about the fact I’d had a fever for a week.
Around 3:30 Carly took August back out. They walked around our side of the park. He is still obsessed with the signs that speak their content when you press the buttons (and pointing out the one that is “broken”), then he saw a hose that was being used to fill the ice skating area. It had a small leak in it, and he liked playing with that until the workers noticed it as well and made it so the leak went down a drain. He wasn’t too happy about that.
They then went to the play area. Carly climbed up into the play structure again, but this time was to help him over the rolly thing and down the slide. They then walked up and got pizza, and were going to go hang out at Starbucks, but he fell asleep. 5 is too late for a nap, so she quickly got him out of the stroller and walking around and woke him back up.
Carly gave him a bath, which went okay, except he kept screaming – either he realizes he gets away with it, or he’s doing it to try to get out of the bath earlier. After his bath he did a lot of art, and had me and Carly writing a lot of letters, then read a few books with Carly before he was suddenly ready for bed and fell asleep at 7:30.
New words/phrases: no screaming (wawa) play area, quiet ( with finger to lips to indicate the play area was empty), drawing better Hs
