The morning after we arrived it rained (with thunder and lightening). We were in the park across the street from our apartment building when we took cover with a couple of Korean women. One of them saw a cicada in a puddle of water and brought it under the shelter. Then, when the water started to come into the shelter, she put it up on one of the benches to make sure it was safe.

First photos of our apartment…
The first photo is our bedroom. Well, the one we sleep in. There are two other bedrooms but they are basically just holding our stuff right now.
The second is the living room. It actually looks a bit different right now as we moved the mattress out there to sleep on because we were having problems with the air conditioner. We have since figured out the air conditioner but have continued to sleep in the living room to save electricity. And because we are lazy.
Finally, there is our kitchen. Which has a combined washer/dryer in it.
More photos to come.

So it begins…

This is what brings us to South Korea: Asia Pacific International School (APIS for short).
And here’s the building that we’re living in:

It’s actually a much bigger building; this is just the wing that we live in. We’re on the eighth floor. If you start with the rows of windows that you see and count up we’re on the sixth floor. Two of those windows are ours.
We’ll provide more thorough tours of each in later posts.
