Century Eyes

“galloping into the void,
you are rolling your eyes like a horse,
all to turn form the beam,
from the eye of that screen.
“turn it off! turn it off!
with our backs to the arch
and the wreck of our kind,
we will stare straight ahead
for the rest of our lives!”

– “Century Eyes”, Shearwater

“If I could make the world as pure and strange as what I see,

I’d put you in the mirror,

I put in front of me.

I put in front of me.

Linger on, your pale blue eyes.

Linger on, your pale blue eyes.”

– “Pale Blue Eyes”, Velvet Underground”

More bouncy chair

Per Glecy’s request (actually, we don’t do requests (unless, perhaps, it is something unique) – this wa already ready to go), here is some more bouncy chair action.

This is from last (Monday) night. Unfortunately, August wasn’t able to play in the chair today as he fell asleep before 7pm. He must have been worn out by our visit to two palaces and tour of the secret garden. We’ll see how early he wakes up tomorrow…

Friday: National University of Science and Technology

On Friday we walked along the old railway track which is now converted to gardens and has a forestry area along it. We call this our ‘bird walk’ as there are a lot of pigeons there and August likes watching them:

We then stopped at Taco Rico – the only restaurant whose flyer/door magnet We have ever paid attention to. They have very Korean-used burritos: rice instead of beans, cream cheese, cabbage, etc. the tortilla is pretty authentic though.

August was playing with a straw, and at one point jerked his arm up as I was drinking from a cup. Chilsing cider (basically 7UP) slashed over the both of us. We were a bit sticky for the rest of the trip. Alas, that wasn’t caught on video, but here he is playing with a straw:

We then walked around the campus of the Korea National University of Science and Technology. We saw banners for an art exhibit called Art Box. With the help of a couple very helpful students, we found it. August loved looking at the little figures and pictures, as you can see in this video:

This was my favorite piece:
