Seoul Forest: deer and apple!
Seoul Forest is the largest park, I believe, in Seoul, and probably the coolest. It has everything.
The highlights included:
Meeting, feeding, petting, and getting licked by the deer in the deer park:
Eating an actual apple for the first time:
Watching the fountains:
Visiting the butterfly and insect houses:
And hanging out with my parents:

New toy!
The limbs and hair move, making a nice clicking noise. And apparently it tastes good. This was actually something that a coworker bought at a second hand store last year and we had put in a shelf and forgotten. Until today.

Sleepy time
Playing with his hat
Bukhansan National Park
Today we went hiking in Bukhansan National Park. We covered a lot of the territory that Carly and I have already hiked, but we also headed farther up a stream bed past a couple of temples I hadn’t seen before.
Highlights include:
Drinking water from a water bottle for the first time:
Our tradional walking video:
And playing with the rope along the side of the trail:
And, of course, we saw a lot of pretty stuff:

And ate an interesting Korean (late) lunch:

And went to the iris garden for a bit before heading home. You can see Bukhansan National Park in the background:

Just your usual walk in the park – aka the greatest video yet
Today August took our first stay-at-home dad and son walk in Seoul, visiting two parks. More on them later. For now, check out this amazing video showcasing a few of August’s talents:
I love sitting up!

Rice cereal
Rice cereal has now joined squash, apple sauce, and carrots on the list of solid(er) foods August has eaten. He really enjoyed his rice cereal today, and has even learned that if he keeps his hands away from the spoon and bowl, that he gets food faster. After eating most of it, however, he did want to take a turn at feeding himself:

As you can tell, he enjoyed it:
He loved it so much, he wanted to eat it from the box:
Sunday around the house
Being the last day of her Chuseok break, Carly wanted to maximize her time with August. So the two of them stayed home and my parents and I went to the National Museum for the day.
But I was around enough to see:
August do some more sitting/lounging practice:
Eat some apple sauce and rice cereal:
And get hyper before bedtime looking at the mobile (which I just missed with the video) and a picture that he really likes of these dog-things on the wall:
